1. Jebel Ali Port - Almost all
Shipping Lines use it as their container transhipment
hub for the entire Middle East region - facing a severe
vessel berthing delay and container yard congestion
since more than a month. Main reason is the huge pile-up
of transhipment containers. Jebel Ali is at 115 percent
occupancy with the transhipment containers; berthing
delay of upto 4 days for main line vessels and 10 days
for feeder vessels. Situation likely to improve marginally
after Ramadan (end September)

2. Shuwaikh,
Kuwait - Huge increase in import volumes, especially
reefers and military supplies movement to Iraq. Yard congestion
and vessel berthing delay of up to 2/3 days for gearless
vessels
3. Muscat - Container yards have been extremely congested;
situation likely to improve end September
4. Salalah - Yard congestion situation easing;
acceptance via Salalah has this week been resumed after
a three week refusal
5. Hodeidah - Major vessel side handling equipment
breakdown; berthing delay 7/8 days; situation not likely
to improve until end October
6. Jeddah - Very severe congestion; many main
line vessels skipping their call at Jeddah
7. Doha - Very low vessel side productivity; berthing
delay 2/3 days
8. Bandar Abbas - Situation Normal
9. Abu Dhabi - Port facing a congestion since
the past two weeks
10. Bahrain - Situation Normal
11. Sharjah - Situation Normal; but feeder vessels
skipping calls
12. Dammam - Situation Normal |
